Car theft is not a serious problem in Hong Kong

Reality : More than one car is stolen every four hours in Hong Kong. In fact, when it comes to professional car theft, Hong Kong is one of the most active cities in the world. Thieves are highly trained, educated, well funded, and spend a great deal of energy learning to defeat vehicle security systems. My car will be safe if I leave it in a reputable car park.

Reality : Most cars are stolen from reputable car parks. They provide good cover for the thief to work and a long time before you are likely to return – especially at night.

It takes time to steal a vehicle.
